Call for Artists, Creators & Research-Creation Practitioners

Are you a self-identifying artist or practice-based researcher? The Creative School at Toronto Metropolitan University is looking for participants for the research study titled “Practices of Knowing: Research-Creation Beyond Academia.” Led by Dr. David Gauntlett (TMU), Dr. Fiona P. McDonald (UBCO) and Dr. Natalie Alvarez (TMU), this study compares creative and research practices in and beyond the university.

Who can join?

Participants must be people aged 21 and over who identify either as scholars using research-creation approaches or artists, producers or makers who engage in a program of self-initiated creative work for professional or non-professional purposes.

What’s involved?

Take part in a sharing circle on campus (approx. 90 min) to share your experiences, to be held in April & May of 2026.

Incentive: $100 for participation.

Participation is voluntary and you can withdraw anytime. Your decision to participate or not will not influence your relationship or any future opportunities with the researchers.
